As said before, it’s super easy to cook lentils in a rice cooker. You can complete the cooking within a few minutes. And the recipe won’t need much more ingredients (spices). Here in this video, you will find a step-by-step process on “how to cook lentils in rice cooker”.

I have used red lentils and some other common ingredients such as onion, garlic, tomato and some mixed herbs. You can add your favorite ingredients to this recipe. But I would like to request you to try this recipe as shown in this video. You will enjoy the lentils with Asian flavor.

Ingredients
1. 1 cup red lentils.
2. 1 medium-size onion.
3. 1 medium-size tomato.
4. 2 green chilies.
5. Fresh coriander leaves.
6. 4 cloves of garlic.
7. 2 tbsp. cooking oil.
8. 1/8 tsp cumin seeds.
9. 1/8 tsp turmeric powder.
10. 1 tsp coriander powder.
11. 1/8 tsp of mixed herbs (optional)
12. 1/8 tsp of ground black pepper (optional)
13. Salt to taste (2 tsp approx.)
14. 3 cups of water.

Directions
1. Turn on the rice cooker and heat the oil.
2. Add cumin seeds, sliced onion, finely chopped garlic and cook until soft.
3. Add little water and then turmeric and coriander powder.
4. Now add chopped tomato and salt and cook for 3 minutes.
5. Add soaked and washed red lentils and mix well.
6. Add 3 cups of water and then cover and cook for 25 minutes.
7. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
8. When cooking is done, turn off the rice cooker and add chopped coriander leaves and then cook for 1 minute more. (Under rice cooker Keep Warm mode).
9. Serve cooked lentils with rice, bread, tortilla, etc.
