Ukrainian soldiers dodged Russian artillery as they attacked a trench. Troops from the 3rd Assault Brigade led the charge south of Bakhmut. They used a Western armoured vehicle to get close to the Russians. Then opened fire with their machine guns to drive Putin’s men out. Russian artillery hit back, with a shell landing inches from one man. He was wounded but managed to make it back to the vehicle. The soldier was taken off the battlefield and into the care of medics. Ukraine is making small but steady advances around Bakhmut. Fighting is now taking place near Klischchivka, to the south. Ukraine claims to have captured important high ground in the area.
