DIY - Star Trek Home Theater in 4K/UHD - with Construction Pictures
A woodworker scratch builds a home theater for his wife (yeah, right!) This video shows the theater and construction pictures of my home theater using the Star Trek Enterprise bridge colors. Inspired (and copied) from "The Bridge Home Theater" of Gary Reighn.
I am using an Optoma TX1080 DLP Projector on a 120" screen and LCARS displays running from a sold-state video player. The sound system has 7.1 audio. Lighting is controlled by X10. A Sony Blu-ray player is used for media and APPLE TV for streaming from my 16TB Dell media server and over the internet.
This was a 10 week project completed Thanksgiving 2010. Phase 1 consisted of wall treatments (with star ports). Phase 2 included the projector, screen and speaker/LCARS displays. Phase 3 included the TURBOLIFT doors, lighting, and final details.
