Google Forms Settings
Have you ever seen or heard the abbreviation “LFMF?” It stands for “Learn From My Fail.” This is how I learn about many, MANY tech tips… I fail, and then share with you how to learn from it! Today’s LFMF is for Google Forms. Maybe you’re one of the lucky ones who has never had this issue but forgetting to collect student email addresses or names on a Form can be a real bummer. There is no way to find out who completed what so the only option is to have form participants redo the whole thing! FAIL!
To make sure this doesn’t happen to you, you can turn on the setting in Google Forms to always collect email addresses. Even if you forget to put a “Name” section on your Form, Google will note the username/email of the person completing it! What a lifesaver!
In the editing view of any Google Form, click the three dots in the top right corner (between the send button and your account button). Look to the bottom and choose “Preferences.” From there, make sure the “Collect email addresses” box is clicked. Click Save. This will apply to every form you create in the future (forms that are already made will not be updated).
