Описание: জেলা প্রশাসনের উদ্যোগে জয়পুরহাটে বর্ণাঢ্য আয়োজনে বাংলা ১৪২৯ নববর্ষ উদযাপন করা হয়েছে। বাংলা নববর্ষ পহেলা বৈশাখ উপলক্ষে রামদেও বাজলা সরকারি উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় থেকে একটি বর্ণাঢ্য মঙ্গল শোভাযাত্রা বের হয়ে শহরের প্রধান প্রধান সড়ক প্রদক্ষিণ শেষে কালেক্টরেট চত্বরে গিয়ে শেষ হয়।

শোভাযাত্রা শেষে লাঠি খেলা ও পালকি প্রদর্শনের মতো বাঙালির ঐতিহ্য ও সংস্কৃতির বিভিন্ন দিক তুলে ধরা হয়। এতে জেলার বিভিন্ন শ্রেণি পেশার মানুষ দলমত নির্বিশেষে অংশগ্রহণ করেন।

পরে কালেক্টরেট চত্বরে আলোচনা সভায় বক্তৃতা করেন- জেলা প্রশাসক শরীফুল ইসলাম, পুলিশ সুপার মাছুম আহাম্মদ ভুঞা, জেলা পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান আরিফুর রহমান রকেট, জেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক জাকির হোসেন প্রমুখ। পরে সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানে জারী-সারীসহ নৃত্য-গীত পরিবেশন করেন স্থানীয় শল্পীরা।

Bengali 1429 New Year has been celebrated in Joypurhat with colorful arrangements on the initiative of district administration. On the occasion of the first Baishakh of Bengali New Year, a colorful Mars procession started from Ramdeo Bajla Government High School and ended at the Collectorate premises after going around the main roads of the city.

At the end of the procession, various aspects of Bengali tradition and culture were highlighted, such as playing sticks and displaying palanquins. People from different walks of life of the district participated in it irrespective of their party affiliation.

Later, Deputy Commissioner Shariful Islam, Superintendent of Police Mashum Ahmed Bhuiyan, District Council Chairman Arifur Rahman Rocket, District Awami League General Secretary Zakir Hossain and others addressed the discussion at the Collectorate premises. Later, local artists performed dance songs along with jari-sari in the cultural program.
