We finally made it to Buenos Aires - our first time in the city after hearing so much about it over the years 🙌🏼

First stop: visiting Chopper aka Fernando Amarilla - everyone knows him as Chopper! Thirty years ago he started out in hairdressing, but halfway through his career he decided to pursue barbering.

Barbering was on the verge of disappearing in Argentina, and Chopper helped keep it alive by blending classic Argentine techniques with styles from around the world. Now he’s known as a “cult barber” and has deep roots in the community 💈✨

Outside the shop, you’ll find Chopper drawing, painting, reading, writing, watching films and biographies or documentaries of all kinds - from extraterrestrial life to rock musicians 🎨✍🏼📚 ✨

✨ His life advice? "Follow your dreams, no matter how incredible they may seem - you’ll be surprised by what you’re capable of.”

It’s not just about the haircut at Shaves and Cuts - it’s the atmosphere that makes it stand out. Chopper describes his barbershop as "an artistic and bohemian place, eclectic, with underground culture, where vintage furniture is mixed with rock and roll, with travel photos and personal memories, objects I’ve searched for and found through the years.” He says, "It is a living and nostalgic place.”

In his shop, he wants people to feel comfortable, like in a family place. Many of his clients are from different backgrounds, but they connect through music, cinema, food, and travel.
