The ICAR-NRRI is inviting applications for a walk-in interview to fill a Young Professional-I (YP-I) position under the research project titled "Quantification of GHGs emissions under different Climate-smart agricultural practices like Direct Seeded Rice, Alternate Wetting and Drying and Precision Nitrogen management in rice production in UCRRFP areas of Uttarakhand state" (Project Code: EAP-440). This project is crucial for understanding and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions in rice production systems, focusing on sustainable and climate-smart agricultural techniques.

Position Details and Compensation

There is one (01) position available for the role of Young Professional-I. The selected candidate will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs. 30,000/-. The engagement is purely temporary and contractual, with a duration lasting up to July 2028 or until the completion of the project, whichever occurs earlier.

Essential and Desirable Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess a B.Sc. in Agriculture or Botany. In addition to the essential degree, the institute has specified several desirable qualifications that will give candidates an edge:
Six months of experience in field or laboratory work from a reputed organization.
Practical experience in soil, plant, and water analysis within both lab and field settings.
Proficiency in experimental data collection, field experimentation, and the preparation of scientific or technical reports and papers.
Strong computer and knowledge skills relevant to research documentation.

Candidate Age Requirements

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and not exceed the maximum age of 45 years as of the date of the interview. Standard age relaxations for SC, ST, and OBC candidates are applicable according to Government of India rules.

Job Responsibilities and Location

The Young Professional-I will be responsible for the implementation of various project activities directly in the farmers' fields. This includes rigorous data collection, data analysis, results presentation, and comprehensive documentation of findings alongside general official work. While the primary place of posting is ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack, the work involves significant field activity related to the project goals.
