Описание: PERSISTENCE IN PRAYER AND MISSION | The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (October 19, 2025) with Sign Language

We are on the Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time; and Jesus, in today’s gospel, assures us that God listens to us.

Jesus tells his disciples of a judge “who neither feared God nor respected any human being.” And this judge is being exhorted by a widow to “render a just decision for [her] against [her] adversary.” The judge was unwilling and delayed it “for a long time”—until one day he decided to “deliver a just decision for her” because he had grown tired of being bothered by the widow.

Jesus describes the judge as “dishonest.” And unlike this dishonest judge, God does not get tired of those “who call out to him day and night.” He is not “slow to answer them” and “will see to it that justice is done for them speedily.” If a dishonest judge can act just for the wrong motivation, the good and just God responds with love so that justice may be done and served. But will we find people who will persist in prayer and faith in God and His justice?
