Hello and welcome to part one of my Ebay Commodore 64 lot unboxing and test.

10:42 Looking at the mainboard and where the chips be
14:58 PSU health checks
18:13 Power on and (***sort of***) testing the SID
Just a little while ago a Commodore 64 with PSU, cables, manuals, a bunch of 5 1/4" disks and a 1541 disk drive was posted on ebay as a "buy it now" for 99 euro by a German vendor. I myself had a Commodore 64C back in 1987 and I had wanted to add one to my collection but the prices keep climbing upwards. Naturally, as soon as I saw it at that price I bought it. The machine was listed as working as was the 1541 but SID chips can fetch a good price nowadays and I was sure that the SID had been removed (the C64 will mostly work without a SID). When the package came I opened it to make sure that all the items were there and then sealed it back up and put it away to give it my full attention when I had a little more time. Well, I've had some time and I started by opening the C64 to see what secrets lay within. Then after I was sure all was more or less ok I powered it on...
In part two I'll be taking a look at the 1541 disk drive, giving it a good cleaning (inside and out) and we'll see if we can get some games running from some of those 5 1/4" disks.
See you soon...
