Dublin’s iconic symbol!
The Spire of Dublin, also known as the Monument of Light or the Millennium Spire, is a prominent landmark located on O'Connell Street in Dublin, Ireland. It is a large, stainless steel, pin-like structure that stands at a height of 120 meters and tapers to a point.
The construction of the Spire of Dublin began in 2002 and was completed in early 2003. It was designed by the architectural firm Ian Ritchie Architects and was commissioned as part of Ireland's Millennium celebrations.
The structure is made of 130 Tons high-quality 316L stainless steel coming from Industeel and its construction involved several engineering and architectural challenges. It is supported by an underground concrete foundation, and the steel segments were assembled on-site and lifted into position using a crane.
