12. SOUNDBITE: (English) Shaukat Aziz, Prime Minister of Pakistan:
"Malaysian investment has been improved and we have forty Malaysian companies present here. Many companies are here today to engaged with our private sector and may I just mentioned the contracting your construction sector. We sign a one MOU today and many more will be signed shortly. We also have agreed on principal that Malaysian and Pakistan will setup a joint investment company; this will provide an institutional framework to promote investments between our two countries. Pakistani investments in Malaysia and Malaysian investments in Pakistan."

"My hope to see that our bilateral relations will continue to expand and deepen. At the moment the trade volume is about six hundred to seven hundred million US dollars. We hope we will be able to reach one billion which is a target and hope we will achieve it as soon as possible. Hopefully also when the Pakistan Malaysian investment company come into being then that could be yet another catalyst that can help to further enhance the investment in our respective countries."

STORYLINE:
Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi met with his Pakistani counterpart, Shaukat Aziz in Islamabad on Sunday.
Badawi is on a three-day visit to Islamabad to meet officials and attend the inaugural session of the World Islamic Economic Forum, a grouping of 57 Muslim countries.
The forum was organised by Pakistan to consider ways to enhance trade with Muslim and non-Muslim countries.
Reacting about Malaysian investment in his country, Pakistani Prime Minister told journalists: " Many companies are here today to engaged with our private sector and may I just mentioned the contracting your construction sector. We sign a one MOU today and many more will be signed shortly. We also have agreed on principal that Malaysian and Pakistan will setup a joint investment company; this will provide an institutional framework to promote investments between our two countries."
