He’s working on new ways to control insect pests, especially mosquitoes.

One of his roles is feeding the mosquitoes that are being kept in the lab, which involves putting his arm in a container so they can suck his blood! The container has about 500 mosquitoes in, with roughly half of those females – they’re the ones that bite. Each one will drink about 2-3 times their body weight in blood.
