With a 4 mile circular walk, sailing club and swimming between 5 & 8pm.
In 2009 the reservoir was drained as part of an £800,000 restoration project.
Constructed in 1842 as a feeder for Bolton& Bury Canal. Water is from the Irwell at
Burrs Country Park via a feeder channel.
Elton Fishing Club, founded in 1858, became a Sailing Club in 1870.

The National Cycle Route 6 passes alongside the reservoir.
