Part of the ‘Drexciyan Realms’ exhibition which explored the Detroit electro band’s fascinating legacy. This was a chance to see the revered duo of Gerald Donald and Michaela To-Nhan Bertel work their Korg Triton workstations in the stunning surroundings of the British Library.

Had the pleasure of hearing them during the sound check and those precise crystalline rhythms really made a powerful sonic statement within that space. Support came from Speaker Music which left me cold (not a fan at all it has to be said). However if I’m gonna be honest, it was DJ Josey Rebelle’s ultra-fun fun fun electro set that really brought the party. Playing aaaaall the hits.

Dopplereffekt then followed to just weird us out and tease us to the dance without ever fully committing, as usual. Impressive large scale visuals though.
