Congrats to ITA on their first A220-100 but why the last minute runway change :(
ITA Airways is the flag carrier of Italy; the airline commenced operations in 2021 replacing the now defunct Alitalia. ITA Airways has ordered 22 A220-100's and 10 A220-300's from Airbus; the airline currently has 7 A220-300's in service but this is their first A220-100 to be delivered!
There are currently 56 A220-100's in service. ITA airways joins a small list of airlines who operate both the A220-100 and -300. Most airlines have opted to buy the larger A220-300. Delta Air Lines is the largest A220 operator in the world with 63 of them in service.
