I finally bought a dashcam and here it is: the Pernis DS315WG!
I'm almost ashamed to admit how long it took me to make a decision on a dashcam, but there are so many options out there! So like any good nerd I sat down and made a list of what was important to me. Things like an app, wifi, a screen, 4k front, a 1080 rear camera, Starvis 2 imaging, G-force sensor, and at least the option of parking monitor.
And I stumbled across the Pernis. A brand of Netconn, they work with brand-mate Polaroid to develop their dashcams.
So after about a week of playing around with it, I'm thrilled with the Pernis and it's performance and happy to share my real-world results with you!
