Putting in supporting boards between the path and the beds on the crops allotment

The allotments on this site slope downwards both to the South and to the East. My allotment was slightly terraced so that the right hand side of the allotment is considerably higher than the path and lower beds. There were boards holding back the soil from the higher beds but they were in poor shape. When I first got the allotment, I repaired them quickly with whatever I had at the time, but now it was time to improve them.
Well they are sorted for at least a couple of years. I can tinker with these edges and replace the boards as I find better material. Having nice edges does make allotment gardening easier on the eye and focuses the mind on the beds, helping to spot problems faster. #allotment #StartingANewAllotment #allotmentgardening
