Today we hike over the Col du Balme and cross the boarder from France into Switzerland! The views are stunning as we hike over the mountain and transition from the round hills of France to the sheer cliffs of Switzerland. The difference is startling to say the least! It's clear that as we begin our trek through Switzerland that we have come to the right place.
This leg of the Haute Route is incredibly fun! However, I recommend taking the tram to the top of the mountain if the weather is poor. There is an alternate route that we took past the Glacier du Trient for additional views.
