Indian Navy On High Alert, Ready To Evacuate Indians From Iran Amid West Asia Tensions

Описание: The Indian Navy is on high alert following escalating tensions in West Asia after missile strikes between the United States and Israel's attack on Iran. The Navy has stated it is ready to launch operations to safely evacuate Indians stranded in the conflict zone if required. Chief of Defence Staff General Arun Kumar Chauhan attended a Cabinet Committee on Security meeting held in Delhi on March 1st. Defence sources confirm that the Navy and Air Force are continuously monitoring the situation in Iran and neighbouring regions. Under Operation Sankalp, the Navy has deployed INS Surat in Bahrain, along with several destroyers and frigates in the Gulf of Aden and Gulf of Oman. The operation has deployed over 5,000 personnel, 21 warships and conducted 900 hours of maritime surveillance flights to ensure safe passage of Indian flagged vessels through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
