Before cameras were in our phones, they looked like... this? The 1996 Ricoh RDC-2E is one of the strangest early digital cameras ever made. From its weird "flat" design to its completely detachable 1.8-inch LCD screen, Ricoh was clearly experimenting with the future. Today, we’re taking it out to see if a 0.41-megapixel sensor can still produce "aesthetic" shots in 2026, and how I managed to get the proprietary .J6I files off this relic.
