This Demonstrates a new option for Gemini V-2 builders for a nose wheel retract option, if they want a clear view for an observer camera, or any other forward-facing survey sensor. The nose gear retracts forwards, so that no modifications are necessary to the fuselage. This is truly a bolt-on solution utilizing any suitable 90 degree nose wheel retract. In this case, we are using a solution from Robart. However, multiple mechanisms can be integrated, to provide you with the characteristics you need to make the aircraft into a more effective tool for surveying, and mapping/counting wildlife.
The other new thing that you might notice in the video is the new aerodynamic carbon fiber heavy duty landing gear, complete with aerodynamic wheel fairings(wheel pants). What is not seen, are our new ultra light weight 90mm wheels, and stronger axles, shaving off even more weight, and allowing it to be carried in payload and battery.
For this flight, we are also using our new smaller, lighter, 36 cell "Tesla" style battery, now available for sale on our website, in the battery section.
