Описание: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced the allocation of a special budget worth tens of billions of shekels to finance Israel’s ongoing war effort against what Netanyahu described as a “cruel enemy.”

Speaking about the financial demands of the campaign, Netanyahu acknowledged the scale of the costs involved.

“We had to go on this campaign [...] But there is one big 'but' here. It costs money, a lot of money,” Netanyahu said.

Finance Minister Smotrich confirmed that the government will provide the necessary supplement to Israel’s defence budget, explaining that the additional funding amounts to tens of billions of shekels.

“This is not an expense, it is an investment,” Smotrich said.

According to Smotrich, the Israeli government has also decided to shelve disputed political issues, including the controversial conscription law, during the wartime period in order to maintain unity while working to pass the 2026 state budget.

He added that the expanded budget would support not only Israel’s defense capabilities but also the economy and the country’s broader regional ambitions.

“Passing the budget immediately will allow us, with God's help, to win the war, provide good service to the citizens of Israel, establish a new regional order in the Middle East centred on the State of Israel as a regional and global power, and put the State of Israel on a track of accelerated growth, development, and prosperity,” Smotrich said.
