To start you need 1. trinity chest 2. musket/bow with +2 projectile quantity base affix and the ele dmg mod 3. blazing bullet special supports 4. sweeping fury prism 5. Get deaths touch asap if you can (crit dmg or crit chance)

build scales with +2 horizontal penetration slates / projectile speed / base dmg to two handed weapons / generic damage mods / we do NOT want any flat dmg anywhere because it messes with trinity

NOTE: Source is for more tankiness with magus but if you want more damage and less survival take onslaughter tree and sweep as the big node and youll have more damage ( remove rock magus in supports and leave it empty )
