During the next 24 hours, a significant weather system is expected to affect many parts of Pakistan. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast dust storms, strong winds, thunderstorms, and rain in upper and central regions as moist currents from the Arabian Sea combine with a western disturbance.
In Punjab, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Jhang, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, and surrounding districts, hot weather is likely to be followed by strong winds, dust storms, and scattered thunderstorms with rain. Isolated heavy downpours and hailstorms may also occur in some areas.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to experience cloudy conditions with rain-thunderstorms at various locations. Some hilly areas may receive moderate to heavy rainfall, increasing the risk of localized flooding and landslides.
In Sindh, most areas will remain hot and humid, but upper Sindh may experience dust storms and gusty winds. Rain chances are lower than in northern and central Pakistan, although isolated thunderstorms cannot be ruled out. Northeastern Balochistan may also receive scattered rain and thunderstorms.
Farmers should secure loose agricultural equipment and be cautious of strong winds and hail that may damage crops, solar panels, and vulnerable structures. Travelers are advised to stay updated with local weather alerts, especially in northern and central regions where weather conditions may change rapidly during the evening and night.
