Marty Supreme (2025) is a comedy-drama directed and co-written by Josh Safdie. The film is losely based on the life of Marty Reisman, a professional table tennis player. A child of Ashkanazi Jewish immigrants to New York's Lower East Side.
The definition of the American Dream shifts between generations, often causing friction between immigrant parents and their children. In this video I explore and discuss these tensions.
Marty is trying to continue a legacy, but he is fixed on doing it his own way. Can he?
