Do we still need to learn Grasshopper?
Like a lot of you, I’ve asked myself: Can AI do more than images and animations…?
My 3 brothers work in IT and kept telling me: “ChatGPT codes everything.”
So I tested it on something architects actually care about — and we unpacked it in our AI Workshop hosted by Maria.
I remember spending days learning Grasshopper at uni.
Now?
One prompt → a parametric tower → sliders + controls → working model.
No plugins. No setup spiral. Just logic → output.
I even added a button to export Rhino-ready geometry straight from the interface.
Workflow (2 steps)
1) Code
Prompted ChatGPT to generate a parametric tower with sliders — pure HTML + JavaScript.
Tools like #Lovable and #V0 made the UI nicer…
…but the logic and code? Done in seconds.
2) 3D / Render
Screenshot → #Midjourney render (this was pre-Nanobanana).
If I did it today, I’d use Gemini.
