He is a graduate of various National and International Institutes like Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, UK, US Army Command and General Staff College, USA, Asia Pacific Centre of Security Studies, USA, Postgraduate Naval College, National Defence College, India, etc. He was the GOC of Eastern Command, Nepal and lead various commands. He also headed the prestigious military training institutions of Nepalese Army like the Nepalese Military Academy, Command and Staff College and Higher Command and Management Course.
