In this video I wood turn a solid Kurrajong Hat Stand for a special hat where the rim needs to retain its shape.
This is a personal Practical Item and I havent bothered sanding or finishing. this was turned green and while the base warped slightly it still sits flat and there are only a couple of checks in the hat stand, nearly 12 months later.
