Made famous by The Animals in 1964, this song was previously recorded by Bob Dylan (1962), but the first recording dates from 1932 (Tom Clarence Ashley and Gwen Foster). It's origin is not well known. The melody could have been borrowed to a sixteenth-century English folk song...
Recorded it in a rush, and in a very cold attic (brrrrr!)
