Making Leather In The Mountains
We have three 3 hides to bark tan so we start by tanning with chestnut oak bark, and transition into tan oak bark. All of these hides are grain-off suede leather. They are turning into a rosy-peach color, very soft and supple. However, the biggest hide will need extra care. These leather hides will be used for making clothing.
