This week the price signals softened while the physical and calendar facts hardened: Jebel Ali out of the global top 30 container ports for the first time in twenty years, a 99-page Canadian counter-tariff schedule effective 12:01 a.m. on 8 September, European troop-posture options due to the US defense secretary by 6 November, and a $131.2B airframe programme running to 2037.

A price is a weighted guess about the future. A transit count is a record of what physically moved. When the two separate, the price is the thing that has to come back — and the operators exposed in the gap are the ones who booked the guess as the plan.
