Описание: The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the world as we knew it. Or has it? Perhaps, it has only disrupted the notions, rules and beliefs by which the world is run. But once we let go of past conditioning, of things that are holding back our thinking and imagination — for example that to contribute to a good cause we need financing and there is no other way — we discover the true meaning our actions can have on society. In this talk, Julia Skupchenko shares her journey during the global disruption of 2020 and the role small businesses and grassroots initiatives play in building a new world after the pandemic, making it more equal and sustainable. Julia Skupchenko is an award-winning entrepreneur and innovator. In 2019 she co-founded AlterContacts, the Think Tank for Sustainable Development, with two key missions: Eradicate Ignorance and Empower Entrepreneurship. During the pandemic, when all the plans got interrupted, she had to find a new way to support entrepreneurs. Julia started Lockdown Economy, a non-profit grassroots initiative to help small business owners to overcome the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis. In a few months, run purely on the enthusiasm of volunteers with no budget or support, Lockdown Economy reached thousands of entrepreneurs in more than 25 countries; earned the Gold Award as “Hero of the Year 2020: Helping others during COVID” in Women World Awards; and got recognition from the United Nations as Acceleration Action towards Sustainable Development Goals. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
