Nisha Patel-Nasri (also written as Nisha Patel Nasri) was a 29-year-old British Indian woman of Hindu Gujarati origin, born in Luton and raised in London. She was a business owner (running a hairdressing salon) and a special constable (volunteer police officer) with the Metropolitan Special Constabulary in the UK.
She was stabbed to death on 11 May 2006 at her home in Wembley, northwest London, the day after celebrating her third wedding anniversary with her husband, Fadi Nasri. Initially, the case appeared to be a burglary or random attack, as she was found collapsed outside her home after being stabbed (with her own kitchen knife, likely a John Lewis chef's knife) inside the house. She had staggered to the doorstep and bled to death from a severe wound to her femoral artery.
The investigation revealed a shocking betrayal: her husband, Fadi Nasri (a Lebanese-born limousine hire business owner), had orchestrated the murder. He was deeply in debt (over £100,000), was having an affair with a Lithuanian woman (who worked as a prostitute), and stood to benefit from a £350,000 life insurance policy on his wife, of which he was the sole beneficiary and executor of her will. Nasri provided the killers with keys to the home and arranged an alibi for himself (he was out playing snooker that night).
He hired two men to carry out the killing:
Jason Jones (a bouncer), who stabbed her.
Roger Leslie (a heroin dealer who acted as a fixer/middleman).
A fourth man, Tony Emmanuel (alleged getaway driver), was charged but acquitted.
All three—Nasri, Jones, and Leslie—were convicted of murder at the Old Bailey in May 2008 after a three-month trial. They received life sentences:
Fadi Nasri: minimum term not explicitly detailed in sources but described as life imprisonment.
Jason Jones: minimum 20 years.
Roger Leslie: minimum 18 years.
Police described the murder as "atrocious and horrendous," and the lead investigator called Nasri's actions "the final betrayal." The case highlighted greed, infidelity, and premeditation, with Nasri initially posing as a grieving husband in media appeals.
There were also later reports and claims (post-conviction) that Nisha had been involved in her husband's side business (an escort agency called Seventh Heaven), allegedly using her police status to intimidate clients, though her family disputed aspects of these characterizations.
This remains one of the more notorious UK cases involving the murder of a police officer (albeit a special constable), and it has been covered in documentaries like "Who Killed Special Constable Nisha?" and episodes of true crime series.#punjabikahanian #punjabikahaniya #truecrimepunjabi #punjabicrimestories #punjabistories #truecrimestories
