Jerry had been in prison for 5 years for a crime he was not even convicted of and was about to go to trial to fight against a sentence of life in prison if found guilty.

Attorneys Susan Lawson and Meri Ros took his case and became his shield. The prosecutor’s chief witness was a co-defendant who had a history of criminal convictions prior to this incident and was given a plea deal in order to testify against our client. Attorney Susan Lawson was able to prove that the co-defendant was a dishonest witness and was even inebriated from heavy drug use at the time of the incident.

After a revealing cross-examination by attorney Susan Lawson, the prosecutors were ready to drop the case after only a day and a half of trial. Our team was able to publicly expose the prosecutor’s strategy to use a dishonest witness, which resulted in our firm getting 2 out of 3 charges Jerry was facing dismissed. In the end, Jerry was only sentenced to the time he already served up until that point and a reduced charge.

Jerry was released from jail and is now able to go home a free man and spend the holidays with his family. Jerry’s story is an example of why we do what we do.
