The European Youth Olympic Festival, or EYOF, is a biennial multi-sport event for young athletes who are aged 14-18, representing all 50 member countries of the European Olympic Committees. In its beginnings, the event was then known as the 'European Youth Olympic Days' from 1991 to 1999.
The event is run by the EOC itself, under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee, and was the first multi-sport event in the Olympic tradition specifically for European athletes; it predates its senior equivalent, the European Games by some 24 years, and the Youth Olympic Games by 19 years.

More than 1,200 young athletes convened at Erzurum in Turkey for the 13th staging of the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival, which is ran from 12 to 17 February 2017. This edition marked the first time that Turkey has staged the winter version of the EYOF, though, the country has already played host to the European Youth Olympic Summer Festival at Trabzon in 2011.
The Winter EYOF had initially been planned for Sarajevo and East Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina, whereas the 2019 edition had been planned for Erzurum, but in November 2015, the two hosting cities agreed to swap their respective hosting honors since Sarajevo could not be ready in time, while Erzurum already had many of the facilities in place after it held the Winter Universiade in 2011.
