With every act — a shared meal, a kind word, a hand held in grief — the sky above grew brighter.

By the time midnight arrived, Aelira stood once more in the open valley. Snow fell slowly now, peaceful and light. The Winter Starpath blazed across the sky, brighter than ever before, reflecting in her pale eyes.

Church bells rang again.

Children laughed.

And for the first time in many years, people looked upward — not in fear, but in wonder.

As dawn approached, Aelira felt the pendant grow still. Her task was complete. She turned back toward the mountains, her figure slowly fading into the snowfall.

Some say she is still walking, year after year, wherever hope grows thin. Others believe she became part of the stars themselves.

But every Christmas night, when the sky is clear and the world is quiet, the Winter Starpath returns.

And with it comes a simple truth:

Even in the deepest winter,
light survives —
as long as someone is willing to carry it.
