World’s largest active volcano, Hawaii's Mauna Loa, which erupted last month and still flowing, is edging closer to the Island’s main highway, the U.S Geological Survey's (USGS) Hawaiian Volcano Observatory reported. On December 3, the flow front was about 2.4 miles (3.9 kilometres) from the Daniel K Inouye Highway. During the past 24 hours, the lava flow advanced at an average rate of about 40 feet per hour (13 meters per hour).
