I had no issues flying my DJI Mini 3 Pro from the viewpoint in the video. I’ve actually flown from here on two different occasions, one with several people around including residents of the building and no one questioned it.

Recently there have been reports of “China” having issues with people flying drones. They don’t have a problem with people flying drones. They are nervous about foreigners flying drones in certain areas because they think it’s a national security issue. A few days before I left Chongqing I had a whole ordeal because an old man called the police on me. Nothing happened because I wasn’t doing anything wrong, but it was a nerve-racking experience. I’ve also had random locals tell me not to fly but I just ignore them.

I do have a dedicated video about flying in different countries in Asia coming up so stay tuned for that. If you fly your drone in China as a foreigner, try not to draw attention to yourself and always play the dumb foreigner card. It never declines!
