Beetidubs is a baby Grey-Headed Flying-Fox who was found on the ground in a suburban backyard. She fell out of a tree in front of the resident and her dog.
Fortunately she fell onto springy grass and hasn't injured herself.
It was a rainy and stormy night and she was drenched and cold.
She was inconsolable on the first night, and cried on and off all night. She came to bed with me for a while but I put her back in the incubator to keep warm when she dozed off.
At 3am she was loud and strident so I fed her, and she settled down with a fat full belly and finally went into a milk c-oma and slept for a few hours.
When she awoke she had adopted me as her mum and hasn't really cried since, except to demand I hurry up with her breakfast.
