The embattled and cash-strapped bus line Rea Vaya has received a lifeline at its relaunch. Bus operator PioTrans yesterday unveiled a fleet of 10 new buses to boost services. Last month, Piotrans was placed under administration over a dispute with creditors.
Johannesburg Transport MMC Kenny Kunene has attributed the company's woes to rampant corruption. Kunene has promised to keep tabs on the bus line to ensure that thousands of commuters relying on its services aren't affected. He speaks to Xoli Mngambi.
