A band of boy peacock spiders in a dance competition for the attentions of a single lady.
These tiny jewel-like spiders are Coastal Peacock Spiders, Maratus speciosus. The brightly coloured males appear every year around September on the beaches of Perth, Western Australia. They dance to woo their partners until the heat of summer when they all disappear until the following year.
These spiders are not uncommon, but most people have never seen one because they don't stop to look closer.
