ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
"In February 2025 my partner and I took an epic road trip from Sydney to Adelaide. The route headed west to Broken Hill and then south via Menindee to Adelaide returning to Sydney via Melbourne and Wagga Wagga.
Covering 4,200 Km in 20 days was a bit of a whirlwind. Along the way we saw so much. Small mining towns. Largely abandoned towns whose economic reason to be there had disappeared. And of course the ever changing landscape. It was a sensory overload.
There was a constant judgement to make. A balance to be found between stopping to look and explore, against the need to cover the distance. Nevertheless, we were fortunate to see so many amazing things.
The pictures chosen here are simply the widest range of the impressions I brought back.
They represent a response to the road trip rather than any attempt to record or present the road trip itself."
