On the bench today is a 1:64 scale Hot Wheels ’61 Chevy Impala Sport Coupe. This is my entry to the April Four Horsemen invitational on the theme of Pro Touring.

I want to thank the Four Horseman for taking me in as a permanent member of the build team. It’s an absolute honour for me to partner together with these guys whom I’ve been watching and learning from since starting out in the hobby just two years ago.

Pro-Touring is a style of classic muscle car, like this Impala, with enhanced suspension, brakes, drivetrain, and aesthetics. Pro-Touring cars are customized with an emphasis on performance and are intended to be driven.

The Impala is a full-sized car built by Chevrolet for model years 1958-1985, 1994-1996, and 2000-2020. The Impala was Chevrolet's popular flagship passenger car and was among the better-selling American-made automobiles in the United States.This third generation Impala was restyled on the GM B platform for the first time in 1961. The Sport Coupe models featured a "bubbleback" roof line style. A Super Sport (SS) option also debuted that year. Power brakes were $43 extra!

FYI: I don't collect, display or sell the cars. All of the Maple Leaf Customs finished projects that are kid-friendly are put in custom blister packs and go to my local Goodwill store where they are given to children for free. If there are parts that can be swallowed, those cars are given as gifts to adult collectors that are fellow enthusiasts.
