The cosmos fields at Awaji Hanasajiki are an incredible sight. Visitors to the park are treated to an array of vibrant colors, as the flowers bloom all around them. The abundance of blooms, including pink yurine, white abutilons and yellow scabiouses, create an entrancing blanket of color that stretches along the restored wasteland in the area.
The flower fields cover some 70 hectares of land and offer visitors a chance to get up close with nature and its beauty. In springtime, the park is particularly special as each type of flower blooms in turn creating a kaleidoscope of color which changes from week to week. In addition, visitors can explore the park on foot or by bike and take in the stunning scenery from different angles.
For those wanting to learn more about these beautiful flowers, there are guided tours available which provide insight into their cultivation and history. Furthermore, visitors can also pick up souvenirs made with natural dyes derived from plant-based materials such as indigo and gardenia during their visit.
