While it remains of dream of mine to thru-hike the PCT, I took the derailment of my thru-hiking plans in stride and here's what I learned along the way. Since I was no longer focused on achieving the goal of hiking one long-trail, I challenged myself to build upon my wilderness skills and discover what there is to see off-trail. 2020 taught me that I have what it takes to go my own way, on my own.
