Pir Mehr Ali Shah (1859–1937) was a well-known Sufi scholar, poet, and spiritual leader who strongly opposed the Ahmadiyya movement. His beautiful white-marble shrine, made from special Makrana marble and built over 20 years, is a lasting symbol of his spiritual legacy.

The shrine features a large white dome, open-pillared walkways, a shining courtyard, and a tall minaret. It was designed by Babu Lal-Muhammad Chughtai in the traditional Chishti-style of Islamic architecture.

Every day, thousands of people visit the shrine. On Fridays, about 10,000 meals are served to visitors, and during his annual Urs (URS), more than 400,000 people come to pay their respects.

There are monthly spiritual gatherings (Majlis) held on special dates according to the lunar calendar. These gatherings are open to everyone who seeks peace and spiritual connection.

The shrine is located right next to the historic Golra Railway Station and Heritage Museum, which adds a unique mix of spiritual tradition, colonial history, and local culture to the visit.
