Описание: In this lecture professor Dr Hoeren gives an overview of the system and history of copyright law and compares international copyright law. He showcases what international and European copyright law includes and points out its advantages and limits.

He explains what software is and speaks about Art. 4 of Directive 2009/24/EC. He goes into detail when speaking about the different rights granted. After that Professor Dr Hoeren explains the barriers created by Art. 5 of Directive 2009/24 and explains the decompilation of computer code into source code and the rights attached to it.

Professor Hoeren explains the system of the sui generis right of the database producer in an international context. He compares the applicability in the European Union versus in the USA. Moreover, he explains the conditions one has to establish in order to receive this protection.
