The AM50 is a hollow body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1982. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the Stagemaster series.
The AM50 features a compact, semi-hollow, double cutaway body design with an arched, laminated maple top with ƒ holes and ivory binding on maple back and sides with a maple center block mated to a set-in maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with ivory binding and pearloid dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Super 58 humbucking pickups mounted in black plastic pickup rings with chrome covers and individual volume and tone controls, a Tune-o-matic style Gibraltar II bridge with a Quik Change II tailpiece, a bone nut, Sure Grip II knobs, and Smooth Tuner tuning machines.
The AM70 is a similar model with an integrated bridge. The AM100 is a similar model with an ivory pickguard, ivory pickup rings and a metallic black finish. The AM205 is a related model with a mahogany burl body, an ebony fingerboard with split block inlays, a black pickguard and gold hardware.
The AM50 was discontinued after 1984.
