This Peter Berg Joint, starring Billy Bob Thornton and Connie Britton, explores the insane world of High School Football in Texas Circa 1988. It follows the Permian Panthers as they attempt to win the Texas 5AAAAA State Championship. Based on a True Story, and eventually the inspiration for the long Running series, which would later break stars like Kyle Chandler, Taylor Kitch, Michael B. Jordan, and Minka Kelly, Jesse Plemmons.
