He recounted the unwavering resolve exhibited during these negotiations, stating, "On September 8, we had the final round of meetings, and we made it clear: 'This is the final draft, take it or leave it.' We believed it encapsulated everyone's non-negotiables and unequivocally declared that further deliberations at the sherpa level were off the table. Any leader with concerns could directly engage with our leader. Astonishingly, by 3:30 in the morning, we had secured the support of emerging markets." Kant further underscored the pivotal role played in achieving consensus, explaining, "By morning, we had gained the approval of the majority of G7 nations. However, Russia presented a challenge. Between 2 am and 4 am, we engaged in intensive negotiations with Russia and succeeded in gaining their cooperation." In conclusion, Kant emphasized Prime Minister Modi's steadfast commitment to ensuring India's G20 involvement yielded an action-oriented and resolute G20 outcome.
